Sketches of Kaitan City (2010)

An impressive, well-executed slice-of-life. On the one hand, I am drawn to this film’s direction and technique; but on the other hand, it is a “life is miserable for everybody” type of story, something I am generally opposed to. Whatever I may feel about it, the few reviews which have been hyping this up since its release are justified. This film deserves more attention (in the West).
